This service provides books and articles that BYU owns to distance learning students. Due to time constraints and borrowing restrictions, the Lee Library will not order books from other libraries. To order items not owned by the library, contact your local public library.

Students currently enrolled in BYU credit bearing, university level, Independent Study courses are eligible for the Books and Articles Delivery Service. This service is intended to aid BYU distance education students in their academic or educational pursuits. (Students currently enrolled in day or evening classes on the Provo campus or who live, work, or reside within Utah County may pick up materials at the Lee Library.) Persons with disabilities may contact the Document Delivery desk to arrange for services.

Submit a Request

All requests will be routed through the Interlibrary Loan ILLiad software system. This allows students and support staff to provide follow up to ensure receipt of the desired item. An email address is required to use ILLiad.

Other Methods: For persons unable to use the ILLiad online system or receive items electronically, contact the Document Delivery desk in the following ways:

Delivery

Books: Books are shipped via United Parcel Service or United States mail to the address provided by the requestor. If you do not receive the item within seven business days, please contact the Document Delivery desk.

Articles and Book Chapters: Articles and chapters from books are delivered electronically. Access to a computer, an ILLIad account and Adobe Acrobat Reader are required. To view articles or book chapters electronically, Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Return or Renew a Book

Books may be used for three weeks from the date of receipt.

Renew a Book

If you need the book beyond the due date, please contact the Books and Articles Delivery desk to renew it.

Returning a Book

It is the responsibility of the requestor to return the item by the due date and pay return postage. Items postmarked by the due date will not be charged overdue fines. A return mailing label will be provided, and we recommend the original mailing package be saved and used to return the item.
